If any of you droogs can’t make up your rassodocks what to listen to, Korova's Spilt Milk Records is back to provide you with a nice, warm, vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts...
Spilt Milk Records 4th instalment, Polyclef, is all about the introspective foot-tapping that only broken beats can provide. Do you dance, or do you dream? In a dimly-lit underpass deep in the bowels of a nondescript metropolis, you skip to the syncopation and contort to the contours.
This is the world you inhabit as you amble into Roker’s ‘Lovin You’, all carefully considered drum patterns that dovetail with developing textures, vocal stabs that traverse the frequency spectrum and a charming synth motif that injects just the right amount of warmth.
CHARLI, steps up with the second original tack of the EP, and, indeed, the second DnB cut. The classic Amen Break is the vehicle upon which is carried a quite charming soundscape, shot through with ethereal vocal samples and evoking thoughts of what a sunset at Café Del Mar might look like if LTJ Bukem were on the ones and twos.
Belfast’s Netherlands-based Kessler takes ‘Lovin’ You’s recipe into his sonic kitchen and shows some brave chops, adding some of his unique flair to create his own signature dish. With a solid base of UKG, he adds a thin layer of trance here and a healthy taste of acid there, all blended neatly, heated to just the right temperature and served on a warm plate of low-end. Bon appetit!
Korova’s own Realm keeps the UK urban vibe to the fore with his re-working of Roker’s opener, with a patient, satisfyingly atmospheric, undulating and unfolding Liquid D’n’B jam. Taking a small, blink-and-you'll-miss-it vocal snippet from the original, Realm uses this as a central rhythmic device which permeates as the rest slowly develops around it into a deliciously sinister cacophony.

Few tracks get the party going like First Casualty. A staple in so many sets since way before its release, it gives great joy and euphoria, while being bold and dynamic. This record proved to be the start of something special for Nathan Micay. Props for the 24-bit quality and hats off to Whities for another gem. Edward
